Section 3163 Insurance Companies

Non-Michigan residents may be eligible for Michigan Auto No-Fault benefits. Non-Michigan residents must first demonstrate that they are not disqualified by the Auto No-Fault Act. A non-Michigan resident is disqualified if: (1) the individual was occupying a motor vehicle or motorcycle not registered in Michigan and (2) the individual was not insured by an insurer that filed a certification in compliance with MCL 500.3163. An insurer that has filed a certification of compliance with MCL 500.3163 is referred to as a “Section 3163 Insurer.”

Compiled here are companies that are Section 3163 Insurers (PDF).

Please note that non-Michigan residents who are not disqualified by the above language, are not automatically eligible for Michigan Auto No-Fault benefits.
