CASE SUMMARY:
In this advisory Opinion, the Michigan Supreme Court per Justice Coleman held;
a. That the Michigan no-fault law does not violate the Michigan constitutional
provision prohibiting a law from embracing more than one object;b. That the no-fault law does not violate the constitutional provision prohibiting
revision or amendment of a law by reference to its title only, and;c. That the only phrases in §3135 of the no-fault law, to-wit, "serious impairment
of body function,” and "permanent serious disfigurement" provide sufficient
standards for legal interpretation.
